https://journal.stitalhilalsigli.ac.id/index.php/al-ihda/article/view/859

This study aims to examine the problems of Insya’ Tahriri learning from a theoretical perspective. Insya’ Tahriri is an Arabic writing skill that requires mastery of grammatical rules (nahwu and sharaf) as well as the ability to develop ideas in written form. However, in practice, this learning often encounters various difficulties that affect students’ writing performance. This research uses a library research method by collecting data from relevant books, journals, and scientific articles. The data collection technique is conducted through documentation study, while the data analysis is carried out using a descriptive-analytical approach by reviewing theories related to Insya’ Tahriri learning. The results of the study indicate that the main problems in Insya’ Tahriri learning include students’ low mastery of Arabic grammar, limited vocabulary, difficulties in sentence construction, and weak ability to develop ideas in writing. In addition, less varied teaching methods also contribute to students’ low writing achievement. In conclusion, Insya’ Tahriri learning still faces several theoretical and practical challenges. Therefore, the application of more varied teaching methods, continuous writing practice, and strengthening of grammar and vocabulary mastery are needed to improve students’ Arabic writing skills effectively.
Dicky HerlambangAnwar Sidik

https://journal.stitalhilalsigli.ac.id/index.php/al-ihda/article/view/837

This study analyzes the stylistic phenomenon of majāz mursal in Q.S. Al-Baqarah verses 153–177, a cohesive thematic unit of the Qurʼan encompassing the obligation of patience (ṣabr), Islamic rites (shaʼāʼir), and legal rulings (aḥkām). Majāz mursal is a sub-type of majāz lughawī in which a word is used beyond its literal meaning based on a relationship other than resemblance (ʿalāqah ghair mushābahah), accompanied by a contextual indicator (qarīnah) preventing literal interpretation. The research employs a descriptive-analytical method anchored in classical balāghah theory, drawing on classical and contemporary scholarship. Five instances of majāz mursal are identified across QS. 2:153, 157, 158, 168, and 177, representing five distinct relational types: sababiyyah, musabbabiyyah, kulliyyah, juzʼiyyah, and maḥalliyyah. Findings show that these figurative expressions serve semantic, rhetorical, and theological functions that deepen Qurʼanic meaning far beyond literal signification, constituting a divine communicative strategy (istirātījiyyah tawāṣuliyyah ilāhiyyah) that conveys dense, multi-layered meanings with remarkable concision, reflecting the inimitable literary quality (iʼjāz bayānī) of the Qurʼan.
Ahmad Syamsuri SyamMohamad HarjumHaniah Haniah

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing reading comprehension skills in Mutala'ah among second-semester students of the Arabic Language Education Program at STIT Al-Hilal Sigli during the 2025/2026 academic year. Reading comprehension is one of the fundamental language skills that plays a significant role in developing students' linguistic competence and critical thinking. However, the teaching of Mutala'ah continues to face several challenges, including the predominance of teacher-centered instructional approaches, limited student engagement in classroom activities, and insufficient opportunities for collaborative and inquiry-based learning, all of which negatively affect students' comprehension of Arabic texts. This study employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest–posttest quasi-experimental design. The participants consisted of five second-semester students selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments, as well as classroom observations, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The findings indicated a substantial improvement in students' reading comprehension skills following the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model. The mean score increased from 57.6 in the pretest to 82.4 in the posttest, demonstrating that Project-Based Learning effectively promotes classroom interaction, independent learning, and students' ability to analyze and comprehend Arabic texts more deeply. The study concludes that Project-Based Learning is an effective instructional model for teaching Mutala'ah in Arabic Language Education programs. It can be adopted as an alternative instructional approach in higher education to improve reading comprehension skills, enhance students' learning motivation, and foster active participation in the learning process.
Teuku Sanwil

https://journal.stitalhilalsigli.ac.id/index.php/al-ihda/article/view/852

This study aims to deeply analyze the development, aesthetic characteristics, and rhetorical dimensions of prose and poetry during the Umayyad Dynasty in close integration with the socio-political dynamics of the era. The method employed is descriptive-analytical qualitative with a historical-sociological approach to examine classical Arabic literary texts and secondary documents. The results indicate that Umayyad literature transformed massively through the emergence of political poetry (syi'ir al-siyasi), polemical poetry (al-naqoid), and love poetry (syi'ir al-ghazal), alongside rapid advancements in prose forms such as sermons, correspondence (rasail), and official administration (kitabah). This dynamic was fueled by the polarization of major cultural regions (Hijaz, Iraq, and Syria), each giving birth to its own distinct rhetorical and aesthetic styles. This aesthetic shift occurred because state stabilization, royal financial support, and the rise of religious-political factions necessitated rhetorical instruments for propaganda and ideological hegemony to sway the masses. The study concludes that Umayyad literature was not merely an individual artistic expression but a structured instrument of political power that reconstructed the Arabic language toward systemic modernization. Consequently, this study contributes to the theoretical understanding of the dialectic between political authority and linguistic aesthetics in Islamic civilization.
Muh.
