This research is designed to understand the implementation of the Sorogan method to improve Nahwu comprehension in the 2nd grade Diniyah class at Pondok Pesantren Babussalam Kalibening Mojoagung – Jombang. The problem formulation for this research is: (1) How to use the sorogan method to increase understanding of nahwu at the Babussalam Islamic boarding school Kalibening Mojoagung? (2) What are the advantages and disadvantages of the sorogan method for increasing understanding of nahwu at the Babussalam Kalibening Mojoagung Islamic Boarding School? Here, the researcher employs a qualitative approach, meaning data collection methods through direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings presented by the researcher are: (1) The process of implementing the Sorogan method to improve Nahwu comprehension in the 2nd grade Diniyah class at Pondok Pesantren Babussalam Kalibening Mojoagung – Jombang begins with the teacher providing the material and explaining the related chapter. After explaining the material, the teacher provides examples related to the material being studied. Then, the teacher asks questions to the students and selects students to answer these questions to test whether the students understand the taught material. After that, the students read and interpret the book that has no meaning (empty) prepared by the teacher. It ends with the teacher summarizing and evaluating the material taught on that day. (2) The application of the Sorogan method to improve Nahwu comprehension in the 2nd grade Diniyah class at Pondok Pesantren Babussalam Kalibening Mojoagung – Jombang has advantages and disadvantages. The advantage of the Sorogan method is that it is easier for students to understand the position and meaning in Nahwu. Meanwhile, the disadvantage of the Sorogan method is that in translating or interpreting books that have no meaning, students often get confused with the same words or sentences.
