PENERAPAN CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KOGNITIF KELAS XI IPA 1 MAN 2 PIDIE JAYA

Abstract

This study aims to determine the cognitive improvement of the 11^th grade IPA 1 students with contextual learning. The research method used is PTK (Classroom Action Research). The subjects of this research are 22 students. The research was conducted in three cycles. After the first cycle, it was found that 9 students achieved an MCC score of 75 and 13 students fell below the minimum score of 75, meaning only 40.9% had achieved the material. In cycle 2, there was an increase in the number of students who completed and achieved the minimum score, there were 12 or 54.5% of 22 students. By Cycle 3, 20 students (90.9%) successfully completed the lesson requirements, while 9.1% still failed to do so. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of contextual teaching and learning can enhance students' cognitive performance.
