Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who learn through the cooperative learning model and conventional learning on trigonometry material in the 10th grade. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method and quasi-experimental design. The research population was all students of the 10th grade MAN 2 Pidie Jaya, while the research sample consisted of the experimental class that received learning with the cooperative learning model and the control class that received conventional learning. The population of this research was all students of the 10th grade MAN 2 Pidie Jaya consisting of 60 students consisting of 3 classes. The sample in this study were students of class X.1 and X.2 who were taken randomly. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistical tests to identify differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities between the two groups. Based on the calculation results, the calculated t value < ttable was obtained, namely the calculated tvalue = 0.521 and the ttable value = 1.67. So it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model had no significant effect on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in trigonometry material in the 10th grade MAN 2 Pidie Jaya.
